Register your house for the Halloween map by 25 October

Halloween on the Point is on Saturday 31 October, 2pm to 5pm, in the HPPS back courtyard. Houses joining in can go on the walking map, and every one of them gets a bucket of wrapped lollies to hand out.

Halloween on the Point is on Saturday 31 October, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, in the back courtyard at Hobsonville Point Primary School. There is food, face painting, photos and trick or treating.

If you are joining in at home, put your house on the Halloween map so trick-or-treaters know where they are welcome. Email your name and address to hphalloween24@gmail.com by 25 October. Every house on the map gets a bucket of complimentary wrapped lollies to hand out on the day.

The AGM is on Sunday 18 October

Sunday 18 October, 3pm to 6pm, at the Sunderland Lounge on Cinema Road, in person and online. Pre-vote when the information pack arrives and you go in the draw for an iPad.

The 2026 Annual General Meeting is on Sunday 18 October, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, at the Sunderland Lounge on Cinema Road, held in person and online. The carpark is opposite.

The AGM is held each October. It is the meeting where the volunteer committee is elected, and where the membership fee for the coming financial year is agreed along with the annual budget.

The HPRS financial year runs from 1 September to 31 August, so the AGM sits just after year end. Barfoot & Thompson prepare the materials beforehand and invoices for the new year typically arrive in November.

Taking part

Financial members can vote at the meeting and can stand for election to the committee. Every committee member gives their time unpaid; what the committee does is set out in the constitution.

A full information pack goes out at least two weeks beforehand. It carries the complete results of the member feedback on the proposed Constitution motions, and it explains how to pre-vote. Members who pre-vote go into a draw to win an iPad (A16) 256GB in silver; the dates you can pre-vote between, and how the draw is made, go out with the pack.

Chichester Cottage is available to hire

The society's 90-year-old cottage on Buckley Avenue is open for hire at $30 an hour, 6am to 10pm daily, with reduced rates for community and not-for-profit groups.

Chichester Cottage is the society’s own community venue, at 192B Buckley Avenue. It suits small group meetings, family gatherings, classes, workshops and shared workspace, and there is a petanque court outside.
Hours 6am to 10pm daily
Rate $30 per hour

Community services, non-profit groups and not-for-profit businesses should get in touch about reduced rates. When you are working out your hours, allow 30 minutes for setup and pack-down within the booking.
