Community Grants Fund Guidelines
The application process, how the advisory committee assesses applications, and what you need to do afterwards.
Applying
Applications must be submitted using the online application form on Auckland Foundation’s website. You can save your progress at any time, as long as you return to the application from the same computer or device.
Applications received by Auckland Foundation after the closing date will not be eligible for consideration by the advisory committee, so send your application in plenty of time in case there are questions.
Once you have submitted your application online, you will receive an acknowledgement email from Auckland Foundation. If you have not received it within 48 hours, please get in touch.

When you can apply
There are four rounds a year. The advisory committee meets soon after each deadline, so apply for the round before the one your event falls in.

Assessment
The Hobsonville Point Community Grants Fund advisory committee meets to assess applications and informs Auckland Foundation, who in turn ensure charitable purpose is met and any due diligence is completed. Auckland Foundation then contacts applicants for bank account information and other paperwork, and processes the grant payment.
The advisory committee is made up of local volunteers. Their assessment of events and projects is based on:
- The amount of funding sought as a proportion of the total sum needed. For larger, more expensive events, groups and individuals are expected to have additional sources of funding.
- The size of the community group that will benefit.
- The validity of the actual expense required to undertake the proposed activity.
After your grant
Auckland Foundation will contact you for an accountability report on the activity and proof of expenditure (receipts) once the activity has taken place. Any unspent grant funds must be returned to Auckland Foundation.
