As you may have heard, our local Headquarters community hub has had to shut up shop for a while.

Due to ongoing issues with wastewater at HQ, Auckland Council has made the decision to close the hub until the New Year so repairs can be made.

There have been problems moving across from the old wastewater connection to the new one, resulting in sewer blockages and a complex range of issues.

AC says: “The safety and convenience of our customers is paramount and while portaloos have been installed at the front of the building as part of a short term solution, it’s become clear that the works are more extensive.

“We aim to provide a high standard of service at the Headquarters for Hobsonville Point locals and so we’re putting all our effort into fixing things and opening again as soon as possible.

“We’re sorry for the inconvenience to those who have booked the facility between now and Christmas and those who take part in activities there. We’re in process of contacting all our customers to offer alternative options.”

The centre is set to re-open in the New Year, though no date has yet been advised.
