The upgrading of historic Chichester Cottage, tucked away on the left at the end of Buckley Avenue under the big trees, is nearing completion. Unforeseen building delays meant it has taken longer than expected to get to this point.

The formerly rickety old cottage is now sturdy and dry with new internal walls and insulation all round. It still needs interior painting, finishing and furnishing but it’s going to be a cute little venue for local get-togethers, with a meeting room, kitchen and toilet facilities.

The coastal walk will curve past its door once the path is properly linked up with the boardwalk below. There’s a petanque court and attractive outdoor seating and planting. It’ll be managed by the HPRS. Can’t give you an opening date but we hope it’s not too far away. Details tba.
