Extensive earthworks have been going on behind the Kerepiti information office and across from the homes now being completed on Glidepath Road. It is ground preparation for the new development being managed by Panuku, the Auckland Council’s housing arm.
Housing in this area (to be known as The Airfields) will conform to the same standards and design rules as for everywhere else on the Point, and when residents eventually move in they will also be Society members.
Ten percent of the dwellings there will be in the ‘affordable housing’ category and areas 5 and 6 (running along the main road heading down to Catalina Bay) are being designated mixed use with the aim of offering future employment and services.
