The intended plan of the cottage

The Hobsonville Point community will have access to a local facility available for hire in 2017.

At the Hobsonville Point Residents Society (HPRS) November AGM, society members showed their strong support for the initiative by voting overwhelmingly to accept the cottage as a gift from Hobsonville Land Company (HLC). This approval has enabled HPRS to continue the negotiations required to convert this cottage into a community facility.

Meanwhile, HLC will restore the cottage in early 2017, with work expected to be completed by May and the facility available for community use by mid-2017. Operated by HPRS, it will be able to be booked on a user-pays, hire basis. Featuring one large room, a kitchen and a bathroom, it will be suited to small group activities of up to 20 people such as hobby groups, a practice space, exhibitions or garden parties.
