DESCRIPTION:On Wed\, June 26\, join our local expert\, Chris Minto\, and volunteers from the Auckland Astronomical Society to learn more about the night sky during the upcoming Matariki period. Matariki is a special time of year for Maori\, marking the turning of seasons and the time when we can look forward to harvests and blessings to come next summer. Jupiter and Saturn will be visible too at that time and this is a super opportunity to see them through a big telescope (fingers crossed for a clear night!). DESCRIPTION:The Women’s Hub on the Point and the Hobsonville Community Trust are getting together to run a really fun and FREE event this Sunday\, May 5 at the HP Primary School. It’s a Hungerball session. For more about the game and how it’s played\, check out this link. \nHungerball was invented in New Zealand and is now speading round the world. It caters for all ages\, sizes\, cultures and abilities. Even those with no skills or interest enjoy it and have a real chance at scoring and winning. \nSunday’s event is on between 2 and 5pm and includes a sausage sizzle during the first hour.
