Who’d like to be part of the group of volunteers that handles applications for funding of local projects, activities and events?

The Hobsonville Point Community Grants Fund has been set up to help out around here and it’s run by small and friendly team who’d love to have a few more people come on board.

This is an easy way of doing something to help spread community spirit and assist people who are doing good work in our neighbourhood. This sub-committee of HPRS considers applications quarterly. It then liaises with the Auckland Foundation, which handles payments and gathers reports later on how things went. For more details on the Auckland Foundation they can be found here https://www.aucklandfoundation.org.nz/home

The Covid-19 lockdown put a stop to many local projects this year but one group that appreciated getting assistance was the Northwest Toy Library. It ran a fun day at the waterpark in early March and said in its follow-up report:

‘We honestly feel like the whole event was an awesome success’… ‘It really affirmed for us the value that we can bring to the community, greater than simply the service we offer to our members. We could not have achieved that without the support of the Hobsonville Point Community Grants Fund.’

If you’re interested in playing a part, please email the group’s chairperson, Clive, at
