Launch Bay Precinct

[formally the Marlborough precinct] at Hobsonville Point. The developer, Marlborough Precinct Holdings Ltd will begin civil works later this month which will transform the precinct through additional roads, a park, trees, seating and new homes around the focal point of the Oval. The four Officer’s homes are nearing completion, having been repainted with new double garages added to each. These character homes will be available to purchase by buyers looking for a renovation project in 2018. Unfortunately it is not always possible to retain or refurbish all the old buildings, so it is with mixed feelings that we wanted to let you know Marlborough Precinct Holdings Ltd has been given approval by Auckland Council to demolish the old barracks next to HLC’s office. The considerable cost to remediate now unsuitable building materials and the poor condition of the buildings makes keeping them uneconomic. Taking the barracks down is expected to take approximately four weeks and building materials such as native timbers will be salvaged and recycled as much as possible.
