Bin Week is making a return to Hobsonville Point after the overwhelming success of the initiative late last year.

For one week in September 2016, a skip bin was located on the corner of Corsair Street and Buckley Ave, enabling residents in the Buckley A precinct to dispose of garden waste from front yards and laneways, especially flax (which is often prohibited from other garden bins). Residents rose to the challenge with gusto and the nine metre bin was filled in a week.

This year, a bin will be placed in the same location from April 20 to 26 for garden waste only (including flax).

We are also seeking your suggestions on the need for a second bin, and where it might be located to cater to other areas of Hobsonville Point with advanced plant growth. The bin needs to be placed where it can be accessed by residents and the contracted company, and where it will not block the line of sight for traffic.
